7/23 - Sorry, the playboy pictures were gone down for a bit. In other news, Harkleroad lost to Canada's little-known Stephanie Dubois, 6-2, 6-3.

6/3/08 - Ashley Harkleroad is turning down a bid to play in the 2008 Olympics in order to improve her ranking during the summer hard court season

"Some people just grow up dying to play the Olympics, and that's their goal. It has never been my goal really."

She left future Olympics open as a possibilty but stated she didn't think she had a chance to medal and just wanted to improve her play. For Harkleroad fans, the news is disappointing, however it may be in her best interest. Andy Roddick and Mardy Fish - 2004's Silver Medalst - also declined the offer.

5/27/08 - Ashley Harkleroad, a once relatively unknown tennis player, is making headines today after announcing her Playboy appearance. Although no tennis player has ever taken an offer from Playboy, other athletes have posed naked in the past such as swimmer Amanda Beard a few years ago. In other news, she lost to Serena Williams, but will likely make just as much money as her. Maria Sharapova, the world's #1 player and best looking was offered $1,000,000 for the same gig but turned it down.
